heal well mate
It was one of those moments when you see your rear wheel out of the corner of your eye and youâre curious as to how youâre going to bring back in check
First time on my bike in a couple of months. First âtrainingâ in over 3 weeks. First âtrainingâ since the cough developed last Friday, and positive PCR on Monday.
Being on the bike⌠TrainerRoad session, I put my FTP way down (to where it probably actually just now) and it was an easy session anyway, so that was OK. But being a bit on the chunky side, and not having been in the saddle for a while was a rude awakening for my arse.
First âtrainingâ in over 3 weeks⌠At the start of December all my motivation seemed to vanish out of an open window. Itâs not really returned, but I wanted to do something to see how my body was fairing.
First âtrainingâ since the cough⌠I went out for a walk on Sunday evening (before I knew why I felt like crap and I assumed it was just from too much time indoors) and just vague inclines were a struggle, so in that regard it was a relief to get a positive PCR test on Monday. Todayâs effort felt as easy as I would have expected, so thatâs encouraging.
Now I think it makes sense to just keep taking it easy, and doing what feels good.
Well done for getting back on it.
Morning strides for me, legged it back, showered just in time to join the morning stand up. Which had been cancelled ten minutes before starting. Again.
The run was nice though, dipped into the woods.
Another 45 minutes in the gym.
Rowing, 4k, 2x0.5k.
Then calf raises, bicep curls, military presses and sit ups.
Got out for a double run today - 7.2km at 9am and 5km at 12pm, caught up now with the 100/100.
Not sure if I can get away with claiming a 3 sport training day
9am: Bologna TT on Zwift
10am: 5km run/walk round town with my brother, 7.30mins/km
11am:
No, thought not
The trotter pic is probably a no for some, doesnât bother me
@fruit_thief, pervert.
4 mile outdoor run, 28:08.
Whatâs holding the mug up? Excited for Christmas?
Really easy hour on the turbo. My arse is not loving 100kg of me being back in the saddle!
13k walk for me today, broke into the odd trot to get warm. I canât remember the last time it wasnât grey and drizzly here!
Edit: still hoping to get on Zwift though.
Son home for Christmas - had a good chat and natter on an out and back 12km run with the dog
Good times
8k row and 5k ski brought my final C2 holiday challenge total to a little over 160k, just 40k short of target
30mins mixed speed and incline workout on the treadmill.
5k run with my amazing dog, 50 minutes GCN pyramid session indoor trainer.
Parkrun for me, think I just scraped under 20 minutes. Hard going though.
Was expecting a bigger turnout tbh.
I woke up at 8am, after a terrible sleep of sweating and coughing.
Feel fine now. No cough and temp normal
LFT was negative this morning.
Iâm probably recovering from 19hrs exercise in 5 days. Or the same Iâve done in the past month

Christmas run in the pouring rain 9.6km.
parkrun for me too, been so long since I did a race of any sort that I forgot to stop the watch at the finish, oops, likely mid 21s Iâd guess
