Went for a muddy 7k run with a reluctant Labrador. Collected 3 poos, one of which was my dog’s. I guess the dog shit fairy does exist and I am him. I may have seen an Ethiopian pro out running. Tiny bloke hurtling along whilst dressed in Everest summit gear. It’s 5oC out - shorts n T-shirt weather in Durham.

Got out for 7.2km run - hard work to get going today.

Edit: think I’m on a roll, managed to get out for another run today. I’ve discovered a 5km loop at the back of my house with about 160m descending/ascending. I don’t know, I really like it somehow - short but painful. Toying with the idea to make up my own version of Norm’s helium loops. Could be a nice challenge to train towards.

I am ridiculously hungover. A huge mix of alcohol was consumed, so I can’t see much training going on today. Even getting myself downstairs to sit on the sofa is too much at the minute

Comisserations @Adam . I ate my weight in avian flesh and marshmallows, leaving very little room for alcohol.

The marshmallows were a Christmas present

Also sprouts and pickled walnuts. It was a night of duvet-lifters

17k jog/walk on the vast frozen tundra :snowman_with_snow: (edit: yes, that’s sleet\snow not frost)

Really cold windchill on the way out, but a definite tailwind back and I think it’s getting warmer.

Thinking of a Zwift later but all the big races have gone for the day.

Good work all. I still feel rough (100% not Covid).

Good news, chills have gone. Bad news, they have been replaced with the shits.

I genuinely think I can only blame so much on the in-laws dog. They are already getting suspicious.

Hope you feel better soon.

Cleveland Way?
We canned off a trip over due to snow on the M62 :scream::triumph:

Yes, but fairly high and exposed there near Osmotherley. A friend said she’d seen some snow on the M62 travelling west. I’d have thought the road would be alright?

‘‘Twas down to one Lane between Rochdale/Huddersfield when I looked at 0630, rolled over and went back to sleep :see_no_evil::rofl:

Mum said it was lashing it down in Whitby.

No fun watching the Boxing Day dip in that weather :triumph:

Descending pyramid workout 6,5,4,3,2,1 with increasing intensity on Treadmill, Bike, RowErg and SkiErg. 84mins total work that felt harder than it should have.

Took the mtb off the garage wall for the first time in a couple of years & met up with some friends at Llandegla for a drizzly couple of hours of muddy fun.

Gobsmacked at the prevalence of e-bikes, they outnumbered people powered bikes. Whole families on them :astonished:. I’m not judging as one of the lads with us had an e-bike, but he’s been medically retired from the RAF with heart problems…but obviously I am judging :joy:

Followed my ride up with a moist, lumpy, 60mins worth of trail running.

Same route. More rain :umbrella: it’s proper bleak at the moment

They’re electric motor bikes. Old/decrepit or disabled by all means, otherwise toughen up fatty. (Mic drop and run for the exit.)

Final race the year at the Tillicoultry 10km to secure bragging rights in the house. 10KM PB of 35:37 and 1st 45-49, managed to hold off my son who came in at 35:47 so 1:1 after the gubbing I received at the XC a fortnight ago.
