25K trail race on the North Yorkshire coast, brutal wind and really heavy conditions. ( 5 minutes slower than April and I’m a bit fitter.
5th overall but a strong M50 field!
Good long run in the bag though.

very nice
I dropped my chain about 11 miles from home & it somehow twisted 90deg. No-one at home to accept the call of shame so I managed to get a bit of cycling done if it was in the inner ring with the derailleur under some tension & in the middle of the cassette.
The twatting thing still frequently dropped but I got home.
How did that happen?..
Yeah that’s impressively fucked!
Great result @jeffb
4 hour family New Year’s Day hike - early start at dawn
Castletown - Lose Hill - Hollins Cross - Mam Tor - Cave Dale - 12.5km - very gentle amble with daughter plus dogs (one of who is 13 (not the daughter) 144 TSS according to Training Peaks.
Wednesday’s 20km (2 hrs) run by contrast was only 114 TSS - go figure
Kicked the year off with a 20 mile run which was very windy along the coast.
Feeling it now
Woah, 20 mile? nice
Looks brilliant. Could’ve done with that sun down here.
That was a good effort today
Thanks
Down for a marathon in April so wanted to get a good run under my belt then will start a proper marathon plan next week.
Off to the Sub 4 thread to see what’s been going on
Got going with 7.5km jog. Feeling the belly flop up and down more than I’d like. 81.5kg on the scales so nearly 3.5kg up from November.
Got going with a rest day
Decided to skip parkrun.
6km dog walk to the parkrun course, walked a lap, walked home.
Ended up cooking another roast dinner and was then too full to hop on Zwift.
Walked up Swiss Hill to the top of the Edge and back down the back route, noseying into peoples houses as darkness set in. 5km.
I should probably start recording all the dogs walks on my watch for “active days”
4 years since I last had a day off I think (it could actually be 5, but I think it’s 4)
First pain free run in about 7 months, well pain free is a stretch, I was in a world of pain any time the trail went up. Hammy felt OK, let’s hope it stays that way.
30 minutes on the bike. God knows what I was drinking last night, but my sweat smelt like death.
