Training - What Training?!

Just put of interest Jorgan, what CTL and TSB do you aim for on race day for a full?

Here’s my last year. I hit 120 on my last day of IM training after a block of four 16h weeks. I only started using TP last Autumn, hence the 365 day chart.

Cheating.
Using hrTSS for the 32km cycle commute

Not when my HR averages 100!

Why is it so up and down every week on the 28 day chart?

Simply from not training on a Saturday!

With one easy change, I’ll revolutionise your training!

and your marriage.

CTL at 107, been maintaining around this level for past month, 35 higher than at this point last year.

My training, both bike and run are either max effort or zone 1 / zone 2. The level of improvement was brought home tonight, I was talking on the phone to my wife, while cycling up Alpe De Zwift, on a 2 hour ride, my average HR was 124, 80% of ride in Z1, while my AP was 198W. It wasn’t that long ago that 200W was a pretty big effort

Marriage advice Jim; the mind boggles. Have you been surfing Fitness Singles links on YouTube again.

23km trail/pavement run, very easy 6.30 pace and 430mtr vert.

Brings my total for week to:

103km running.

30 min turbo

One swim this week, courtesy of having the squits all week.

FatPom is now a skinny Pom.

FatPom is a knackered Pom who ‘may’ have overdone the re-fuelling.

No run for me this morning, after walking 25.6km yesterday :sob::fr:
That’s after an easy 6km run before breakfast.

9hrs 50mins
601TSS
93CTL

4 swims: 2hrs 15mins 8.2km
Beat some LTS PBs and smashed my current year CSS. A good swim week. I took Thursday off, as I was pooped after the CSS test and subsequent session.

3 bikes: 5hrs 15mins 89km.
2 indoor rides of one hour.
1 outdoor ride of 90km in 3:15. In the pouring rain. To Rapha for lunch with my lovely wife :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

3 runs: 2hrs 20mins 28.2km
Two easy runs, one long easy run.
Nothing special.

Looking at next week, it appears most of my
Riding will be indoors, so I might bust out TrainerRoad and BladeRunner 2049.

Easing back into it with a couple of runs totalling 18 miles, couple of turbo sessions and even a 2.5k swim which felt surprisingly ok. Over to the weight watchers thread now…

I seem to have spent 30 hours on Zwift last month, really must get out more. Managed an additional 8 hours outside on the bike, 10 hours of running and 1 swim.

Recovery week
Managed the 1 min plank… 1 min squats x 30 circuit for the first time.

Refreshed and 2020 starts now.

3 runs for me for 20K, one the parkrun yesterday.

1 hour wandering locally on the MTB for some fresh air, doesn’t really count.

No huge plans to increase things yet but have got a trail half next weekend if I do it.
