Quick (as in length of time, not as in my speed, obviously) 1000m swim between kids party drop off and pick up. Bit meh but will enjoy my roast.
spent most of the morning moving my treadmill to another roomâŚ. then 2 hours on Zwift⌠I know which was harder work!!!
40 minutes on the treadmill, 1.5% incline and really steady. Soberingly, my longest run this year.
Started an endurance group ride this morning but had to hop off after 40mins for a toilet break, was 0% chance of catching the peloton again so binned it and did SST (long) workout while going up Ventop.

Pleased with the splits
Had a couple of glances at the 100 splits which were about 1:28 just as I went to tumble
Woken up by the wind at 4:30am
Definitely didnât want to walk to the pool in the that.
Or drive.
So binned it off.
Recovery week anyhow, so no love lost
I think if you look at Garmin Connect online (web browser) itâll show you the 25m âestimatedâ splits, so you can get an idea of the 100m times and where you tail off etc.
I do the first 50m too quick, middle hundred too slow, then speed up over the last 50m
Possibly one for the rant thread. I like most people I imagine found a brand of shoes I liked and just keep buying the same ones. For me its Saucony Ride (sometimes Jazz). The last couple of pairs I have owned havent lasted at all. Current ones I bought them in June last year, I have only run a handful of times in them, although I wear them a lot for dog walking and walking to the shops.
The front sole has completely worn away and the backs have fallen apart in side and now the plastic bit sticks out and digs in my heel.
They also used to be reduced regularly, but now they are over ÂŁ110. Dont really want to spend a ton on some shoes that are going to fall apart in months with little use. But at the same time dont really want to go through the rigmarole of trying different brands.
Nice day up here so tried out my shin/ankle over 3k. Must have been pent up frustration from the past weeks of doing nothing as got a bit carried away and did a PB 1k and mile
Could feel my ankle but it wasnât hurting, if that makes sense so will stretch and ice like mad and hope it holds up.
If the storms donât reach us will try and very slow 5k in a few days.
8k or so jog around the lanes testing out the k tape again, seems to be helping. Minor interruption to move a stable roof (ironic) from the road to the verge.
Easy HM as I was pacing my PT friend. She is a determined and fit women but barely runs, 5km a week to every other week, however trains in the gym alot. Shes been on quite a few 100km plus rides with me and has never struggled. She wanted to see if she could do a sub 2hr HM. Furthest shes run is about 13km. I knew she was probably capable of well under 2 so set off at 5:05km pace, she works in miles and didnât realise what was quite happening pace wise until about 14 km in. Bit of encouragement and pushing, got her in, in just under 1:46. Very pleased and was really nice to able to help someone else achieve something.
5km treadmill royal flush, every k quicker than the last.
Wedding Anniversary.
No training today, boys
Very busy day at work = no energy
Hour on Zwift
206W
Was feeling fairly tired myself but forced myself to go swimming, felt quite a bit livelier at the end.
11km easy run. 1.02 at 5.37 pace.
Still windy but nothing like yesterday and very mild out there.
Definitely didnât eat enough yesterday and felt it today
2km swim with splits going the wrong way for once (8:02 / 8:06 / 8:08 / 8:02â
Rallied a little for the treadmill intervals
4 x 3 mins @ 10.5mph
6 x 40:20s @ 12mph
Plenty of food going in today
Forced rest days due to piles painful! Happened for the 1st time in my life 2 years ago and now again. Hope it doesnât mean itâs gonna be a regular thing now
