Training - What Training?!

Bit of an odd week for me. Still managed to get 5 x days in, and was active with the kids on the weekend. TP obviously didn’t agree with my assessment though, as it’s given me a pretty low TSS this week. Think that was because i did quite a few shorter sessions on the bike and run, but they had a fair bit of intensity.

I know in my body and legs that i got a real boost this week from that injection of intensity, even if my graph doesn’t reflect that.

An encouraging speed session on foot, 2 x short workouts on zwift, 1 x easy run off road and a pretty tough 2hr session on the turbo last Fri.

Got my road bike fixed now, so will have a ‘free’ 50km of base riding going to and from work tomorrow. Also hoping to kick start my Sunday early morning rides again with my friends. So thats’s normally 2-4 hours out on the hills. When they get coupled up with some focussed efforts on Zwift, i should hopefully see the fitness curve heading up again.

Now that i know some of my run speed is returning, i’ll focus on HM type efforts i think. I need to build the speed endurance back up, and have plenty of time to get that in a good place by July.

Ah - that’s what the signs were for!

Did that go over Biddulph, down to Rudyard and over to Tittesworth then?

EDIT: Just checked the route. Yes it did (ish)

Decent route that.
Great day for it!

Mixed week for me also. Toothache didn’t help and I was getting over that funk I had before.

20km walking
26km running
24km mtb

Only went a for a 6km walk yesterday, so have some making up to do. Less than 12wks to E24. :anguished:

One hour static bike with better results than of late

Won’t be troubling the 5 w per kg thread … or 4 at this weight but I still enjoyed the pain and I’m alive.

I did think about going outside to ride, but with no races possibly ever it just doesn’t make sense to me anymore.

Enjoying the extra cardio recently though.

Monday’s aren’t great for me but with the best weather of the week promised today I tried to make the most of it. Only 84km at 2.4w/kg but it’ll have to do, misty start which was nice if chilly but once the sun won the fight it was lovely out there

Good work @PCP, near my neck of the woods!

I did a lumpy 10.5km run first thing, plodded round in 47 minutes.

And managed to give myself runners nipple in the process.

Did a Zwift this morning.
241W for 42mins on the ToW.
Horrific.

My left upper rib(s) feel like I have broken them.
(I’ve broken them before, pain is remarkably similar)
Obviously I have not and I’ve pulled a muscle in my back digging holes.

Every breath it feels like I’m being stabbed in my chest or back.

Sacked off this evenings jog.
Cannot swim either.

Just really pissed off with it all recently :sob::tired_face:

Got 2.5-3 tonnes of earth to move Wednesday too :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::chart_with_downwards_trend:

really struggling with motivation at the moment… had a heavy cold last week, and it stopped my training for a few days, and haven’t yet managed to find the gumption to get going again…. even found myself considering bailing on this years events yesterday. :flushed:

Sorry to hear that mate, I’m no stranger to how you’re feeling. How long is it until your races? Maybe you have time to let the ‘fire’ come back to you?

Been mainly climbing at the moment, somehow I never write what I’m doing in the climbing gym - don’t want to bore you all I think and running is at least a thirdly related to triathlon!! Ran twice last week and climbed x3 - rest week really for me.
Had a good strength session yesterday, will be going for a run this morning and climbing this evening - help clear my head. My father’s really ill at the moment and I don’t think he’s going to make it, am waiting for that dreaded call. :pensive:

I’ve bailed on Southport Sprint Tri on Sunday.
I can barely put my socks on today.

Well…the fact it’ll be 7° when I start at 1130 has also put me off :see_no_evil:

I’m ranked 9th on the start sheet, so that sort of makes me want to do it
