Winning
4 runs for 42k including the XC
2 Wattbikes with a bit of quality
Slowly picking things up a bit, but 2 nights out as well
albeit not big sessions.
Jeff
Iām kind of feeling the love of running at the moment. Have been more consistent than ever before. Perhaps as a result, seem to be not slowing down too much despite getting ever more grizzled and ancient.
Have a half marathon lined up 2nd Feb
Have more than one bike? ![]()
I find CTL can be quite cruel; in that you end up chasing it, and itās merciless. I dropped from 99 on Fri to 93 this morning, because all I managed to do this weekend was a 35 min run.
Last week was my lowest volume since the start of September (8h34m). Hopefully a solid week this week, before it all goes to the wall during the school holidays!
Week started well but night out on Saturday meant Sunday was a write-off.
1 Swim - 1hr/2240m
3 Bikes - 2hrs/68km (+4 Days commuting 2hrs/44km)
3 Runs - 2hrs/22km
+1hr S&C
How old skool is THAT
Last week completely written off. Just a touch over 4 hours, mainly easy run commuting.
Currently weak as a kitten. CTL trending downwards rapidly. Colds/coughs at home and work. It was only a matter of time until it hit me too.
I might as well knock the month on its head and enjoy Christmas, get back on it in January.
Tidy hand writing that
TT bike is on turbo, posh summer bike was stripped and rebuilt before being put into hibernation (also lacks mudguards and was on tubs - Iām not riding them in winter on these roads!), other option was the single speed one.
Guess a spring/autumn bike would be good - like some form at Cross/Gravel/Road thing-a-mi-bobby
I could have lined the columns up better though!
Well now you mention it
What did you commute on, was that your winter bike? I could use my commuter if I didnāt want to use my Canyon; but Iāll generally use the Canyon in all weathers as it has discs too. Iām quite happy to use an expensive carbon road bike year-round; otherwise why have it.
Tough week in terms of work 8am-9pm Monday to Thursday, then a 2.5hr drive each way to the NE to see family. Managed to keep CTL static at 65 but did feel like having to train which is very rare, normally just do because want to exercise.
Done fook all since IM Barcelona in October.
1 Swim
1 run (of 1.4 miles)
Saying that - I only averaged 2hr17 of training from Jan-October, but got round IM Austria and Barcelona (12:38) - which was faster than 2014 and 2018.
Currently Iām in the unprecedented position of having a higher predicted biking VO2 than running; Iām on my highest ever biking VO2 of 63 vs a lowest running VO2 of 60.
The fact Iāve not run much recently, and yesterdayās I was hungover might have something to do with it! Plus last week I did a lot of short interval sessions on the trainer, hence the bike VO2 #gainz.
Sounds like crap week for everyone last week
Personally, couldnāt be arsed to do anything on Monday evening
Tuesday did an FTP ramp test (310) and Climbed Alpe du Zwift
Wednesday Christmas Party
Thursday (hangover) and Boss Leaving Party
Friday (more hangover) ran 20km after work, slowly
Saturday, Velodrome taster, good fun, but pretty low intensity
Sunday, Binned the planned mountain bike ride and went snowboarding with my son, had a brilliant time. (Anyone planning a ski trip to Switzerland should really look at Andermatt, fantastic resort, mainly blue and Red runs, but they are nice and long)
CTL dropped from 111 to 104
Today I did put in a decent cycle to work effort
Did a little over 7 Hrs last week, TBH though that was enough having had several weeks of being ill on and off.
Re: IMJ on facebook I had a quick look and it seems a closed group so couldnāt see any content but sounds like rubbish and I just wouldnāt bother. Some people arenāt interested in having an honest appraisal of where theyāre at, especially on social media, they just want confirmation bias.
Single speed/fixed.
26km each way on a 48*14T.
Booms.
Summer bike doesnāt match my club kit.
