Training - What Training?!

4 reasonably honest days here, trying to getting back into some sort of training groove after being a bit flaky for the last 6 months:

Sat: 90min run / 20km , that was a bit too fast really
Sun: 40 min z0 wife run /6km + 2h zwift 212W
Mon: pm swim 1h/2500m club sess
Tue: pm 47min chatty run/ 10km

Now just need to keep it up for 3 more months to have any chance of getting round Cotswold alive

Beer count:

Sat: 2, Kronenberg
Sun: 1, Fosters
Mon: 1, some own brand travesty from Tescoes (she chose)
Tue: 1, Kronenberg, not working tomorrow and contemplating #2

Swimming again today, or my version of it, straight 2.2k to continue getting some endurance going again, bit of an achy back but otherwise ok

Climbing yesterday, lost a bit of strength, but overall okay. Went for a lovely 10km walk this morning. Will do some strength work this evening

An hour endurance ride this morning, then twenty minutes easy ride this afternoon doing chores.

!Ā£km easy. First 5 with family and next 8 on my own. Gives me 60km from 3 runs from Sunday so far.

If you’re wondering about the gap on the map, I stopped my watch at 13km and walked the rest home. (approx 800mtrs)

1000 cal bike challenge.

Only ever done this once before, probably at the peak of my recent fitness in 2019…

Hated the first 30 mins, but at the end didn’t want to get off!

1:28:40 a full nine mins slower than 3 years ago but I was aiming for 1:30 so every cloud etc.

Av hr 152
No fan or air con
Gym was 12 degrees ish.
Sweat fest

So the challenge is to burn 1000 in the fastest time?

Yes

Had a hr monitor on and my ancient polar ft7 gave very similar result to the actual bike
( 1049).

Obviously the watch can’t read watts so I just go off the bike score.

In everyday life I much prefer being this size now, but I really miss the challenge of racing / tri/ endurance gym stuff.

My total score for bench pressing 40 kg in 15 mins has virtually doubled in four months but I’ve lost 4, maybe 5 mins off a flat out 5k.

It’s just nature I guess, legs are sore now, I love that feeling.

not so easy to type though eh?!

I wouldn’t have made that mistake last week but I’m old and senile now. Who said that? Get off my lawn, you call that music?

Tight going :+1:

Was this done on a wattbike pro or an assault bike?

Being feeling a tad under the weather all day. So just jumped on the turbo and did 50mins steady in tt position. Felt fine on the bike, despite feeling really light headed on the allotment earlier.

Also, weirdly, my quads were feeling battered yesterday after my run. Like I’d done 10km flat out downhill. No idea why, as wasn’t a particularly hard run at all. My body doesn’t know what’s going on at the mo! Something isn’t right.

Also noticed this when changing to nice new cleats. The obvious answer is I need new ones. Is the less obvious one, no I don’t, as I’ve not noticed any difference from whenever it happened to now! :joy:

Just too powerful I guess.

Just the same old (or similar) static bikes I’ve used for 30? ( god I’m old ) years or so.

Means nowt to anyone but me really, I’m only racing myself these days.

Doesn the float on the yellows piss you right off? I used reds and they still feel like they move too much

Another 5x5 session ticked off.

Had to time the intro to Money for Nothing so the gituar hit as I went in to my deadlift set.

Have never tried any others, so couldn’t say! :joy:
