Shorts & winter socks. I can’t make my mind up
Bloody well done - picked a day for it?
Was it breezy down your way?
Thanks mate. Didn’t really plan it, just had a chance to use some flexi time. Didn’t even know where I was going even heading down the drive
Yes it got very breezy after the turnaround but seemed to ease off when stopped. A few spots of rain a couple of times.
A day well spent.
It was a beaut of a day up here just a bloody strong wind riding home
Trotters !!!
Oh yes.
Boooo
The gentleman doth protest too much, methinks
@Doonhamer that’s a heck of a ride, from Strava looks like you were pretty much moving the whole time too? What do you do for drink / energy on a ride like that. Do you carry most of it or hunt like a caveman en route?
He just licks the rock salt and grabs berries from the bushes as he passes.
Ive said it before. Nicely manicured ladies feet are fine, but gnarly male triathletes feet are not for me.
That’s not very inclusive. Off to HR for you
I dont care, ill park my gnarly male triathletes foot in HRs hoop.
I did 45mins on Zwift last afternoon.
That was instead of an outdoor 90min ride, due to CBA/work.
Now walking to the pool as punishment
Will be passing the bakery on the way back
Did a swim.
1800m 1:31/100m 129bpm ave, 151bpm max
They’d not put the Lane ropes out.
Utter retirees breaststroke-fest.
Some fly quickly got me a black line all to myself.
Did the first intermediate set from this (@gingerbongo - could be good for you?)
Coming in at 17-19s for the 25m reps.
Then 39-41s for the 50m ones.
Used the 200m as technique / recovery focus.
Pull, catch, kick, doing the flip turn dolphin kick in time etc.
Forgot to press lap/stop at the end, so pretty wounded to see my average pace creep up to 1:30/100m
I’d be calling for a national holiday if I could turn in 1.30/100s
Oh, they weren’t 100s
Just a flattering lot of 25 and 50m to make it look good on Strava
I did a few (5?) sub 1:30/100m by drafting someone earlier in the week.
Think I might stop swimming again now.
Whenever I stop then start again, my first week is always rapid. I then go backwards for three weeks, before being as quick as I was in week 1 again (which, luckily, is race week!)
I think it’s called “adaptation” or something like that?!?
There was at least 30mins faffage for nature breaks, influencer content, a Co-op meal deal at Bala & later on for an emergency can of Big Red Ambulance, banana & Snicker bar.
Food on the go was whatever was in my top tube bag - Nakd bars, Graze bars, Tescoeze Mars bars etc - all washed down by 3 bottles.
That’s an acceptable amount of stopping for a ride of that time.
I am fond of your choice of “cafe” too
A quick in and out at CoOp (Coke, ham and cheese sandwich, two snack pork pies) no thinking required.
Yep. None of that sitting down nonsense.
No, you are all wrong and will never be cyclists
