Training - What Training?!

Same. I always leave the window in my office open a this morning it was cold and i almost put trousers on instead if shorts.

Went out for an evening walk and was a bit sweaty. Very nice clear blue sky and warm.

Up at 0450 all excited for The Solstice.
Out of the door by 0550, brake rubbing and gears noisy.
About turn, quick fiddle and off again by 0557.
Got a couple of hours in and wasn’t feeling it :sob:

Got to Shotton…

  1. Didn’t think I could face another 10 hours of my own company
  2. Saddle sores still tender from Staffs 70.3
  3. inner thighs had that ā€œcramp is comingā€ feeling
  4. I’ve developed eczema on my hands and the cream has made them super soft, so I probably need to start cycling in gloves, as all of my hard skin/callouses have gone :joy:

Due to no trains today, I didn’t fancy calling from Llanwrst for a lift home from my MIL :flushed:

So I made up THE WORST possible route out of Chester to Tarporley, where I picked up roads I knew again.

One stop to text the wife to tell her I’d be back for lunch, another at a church to refill my bottles with the ā€œWater of Lifeā€ and a quick leak :+1:t3:

Time to jet wash the patio now :+1:t3::sunny:

150km isn’t a disaster & your weather couldn’t have been more perfect. You probably passed within a couple of hundred metres of me.

Passed @Memphisraines , too :+1:t3:
I went over the A55 Deeside bridge, round Amazon, thought about going to Nets for breakfast, but didn’t know if it’s be open, so just went back Chester up the estuary.
Then got on the A49/51/56 until I saw a sign for Tarporley, then found my way again.

Despite not feeling any fitter, the trend is definitely going in the right direction. I’m hoping that the proof will be seen on race day and that it’s just a bit of fatigue. That’s despite spending more time swimming and doing core/weights than prior years which get a much lower TSS.

Just like mine then :man_facepalming:t3::cry:

You must have TP Premium. Can’t get those charts.

I do, yes. But I’m going to bin it when the next quarter expires. I like looking at the graphs and stuff, but it’s not really got a tonne of value. I’ll start using the intervals.icu a bit more I think.

I like to track overall times, distance and load. But as discussed elsewhere i think the tss thing is too bike focussed anyway.

Edit - cheers for that inadvertent reminder @Jgav. Cancelled my renewal, so I have it until August. That’s a few quid saved pa.

Yeah. I’m 56% of the fitness I was at this time last year :sob::sob::sob:

Also, the fatigue appears to be nonsense.
I’m feeling good (bar the weird cramp and saddle sore) - but gonna have a beer in my freshly jet washed courtyard garden now :sunny::beers:

I just use Elevate for Strava which is a free app and does overall time, distance per sport etc. It also does that fitness and fatigue graph I shared.

Ah yeah, I think I have that on a chrome extension. Forgot about that.

I do still have, and like, Veloviewer as a way to see my overall training. I like that one.

Bit of a brick session today in the sun, 34 miles at 32.33kph into 6.5km at 7:56 min per mile, bit warm at the end
