Virtual Zwift Rides

A and B group rides were also different courses sometimes

Avg power was 327W I now weigh 68.8kg… but 68 on Zwift

I wanted to do the Alpe, so did the Group Ride rather than Race. I have done some stages as race, others as group ride.

Div alert!:joy:
I decided to do a steady(ish) ride on Zwift tonight with Frank Schleck, got on just in time then managed to close the app, so when I re-joined the main group had vanished and I was in a group for 100th place!!

Things weren’t going to badly and I was going alright, then I went to change the volume on my phone and managed click the bloody apple pay button so it wanted to view my chops, by this time the app and group I was riding in disappeared, when I got back in they were disappearing down the road and a 1 minute hard effort wasn’t getting them back so it cut my losses (spat my dummy out) and bailed ![:joy:]

Ended up doing about 20K, probably around 235W

Let’s not ever do it again though eh :joy:

Right no idea how this works… my week trial ends today, I did the intro loop last Thursday but know nothing more.

If I want to kill an hour in the shed this evening what are my options ? what should I be looking for ?
(No specific training goal just now although I would like to set a benchmark CP20 at some point Zwift may not be the best place for it)

I did an unintentional CP20 this past week by entering one of the stages on the tour of watopia. I think it lasted 25 minutes but it was about right - that might be an option for you

Yeah, the races are decent just to smash yourself. I have to admit, the additional motivation knowing there is someone else out there sat on a turbo working hard is pretty strong not to quit and to continue to hold the wheel.

I still think my trainerroad sessions are better sessions (and in some ways I like the simplicity of them - yes, I know you can do workouts within zwift, but I don’t really see the point, I’d rather just watch tv or listen to a podcast), but zwift has its place as something different, especially with no real racing for the foreseeable future

Yes the Zwift clubs are a bit underwhelming - got potential though once they roll it out and you can create your own club

Anyone else joining the Zwift Haute Route Stage 2 on Saturday morning at 8am UK time?

It’s the big one, the Alpe

Want a new FTP, this is the place to do it :grinning:

I saw this guy in the Cat C results, who did an FTP test at the same time. Portly Italian MTBer with an FTP well north of 400w. COVID has really brought out the idiots.

Yesterday I used the Ghost power-up to shake off my ‘buddy’ with 1500m to go. I generally get mullered in sprints, so have to go with about 2km to go and see if anyone takes the bait or lets me go Boonen style. If you can get about 3s on someone they usually give-up.

thats not likely to happen any time “zoon”. they are going to keep it in the clique, like events, limited people will be able to set up clubs. It will be some time before there is a free club facility like we want

Quite possibly. I’m aiming to do stage 1 at a similar time tomorrow morning as well.

Spent a moment looking at the extra bits that exist within Zwift Power. This seems quite interesting: https://zwiftinsider.com/zwiftpower-dual-recording/

I might run a direct comparison of my P2M and my Direto tomorrow. I’ve always said the Direto reads about 10w high, so this would help validate. Seems very similar to the (paid for) DCR Analyser

Right. So I’m getting an old 2009 Inspiron Mini into action. Have it on an Ethernet cable, as the wireless isn’t playing. But for some reason it won’t open any Zwift webpages (will open FB, YT etc). Why is that… it just says it ‘cannot display the webpage’. Now downloading Chrome onto it. Is it just the fact it’s running an ancient OS? (XP)

ETA - okay, got onto Zwift website using Chrome. Just need to see if the OS/Hardware can run the game!

Could join you on this one  Need to do 90-120 minutes on Saturday at flat brisk effort :white_check_mark:

As long as it’s not longer than 2 hours jobs a good one

Just signed up for this, need to get my arse in the garage now, starts at 6:05, anyone else in?

Stage 1 Race - Tour of Watopia 2020

Well, pretty much schooled again, didn’t really go with the really fast lot in the Cat C race and ended up in a group for 21st  and finished 23rd in a 5 way sprint, the front 2 went earlier than I expected.

277W AP but there was some 4+ W\KG. It looks like I’d have been around the same position in the Cat B race. Should have made an effort to go with the front group from the gun but my parachute slowed me down.

Decent work though.
