Sun was out… rode my bike instead
maybe another time
Zwift TT this evening, just a 16.1k… rode as Cat C, and managed a rather poor 3.3W/Kg… which is still 0.2W/Kg above Cat C band, and was 59th in category!!!
Winner of Cat C averaged 4.4W/Kg!
Still enjoyed it though… nice to not feel like my lungs are full of sand again… (although they did feel like they wanted to pack their bags and leave home for a few mins after the finish line)
I’m going to do 3 sisters tomorrow and go from there.
Great. I’m in Club Jarvis. Basically I can choose the club as I start a ride in dropdown, and I can view the activities of loads of people in club jarvis that I have no interest in. There is a race on monday for “club members” but we cant set them up, so probably by the handful who are allowed now. Needs work would be an understatement
Yes. Seems like they’ve rushed it out really. Like I said earlier I think a club system to organise rides/races within your club could be great - but yeah club Jarvis is a bit shit
At least you were branded up as a triafleet!
I hope it upsets the cyclists
Haute Route Stage 1 this morning. It was fun, but I’m definitely fatigued. I couldn’t even hold the kind of power I’ve been putting out for 45min stage rides for 15 minutes. Just broke the 100 minute mark, taking 1:39.
Tomorrow shouldn’t be too bad (he says naively having never ridden AdZ), but Sunday looks pretty brutal.
Sorry, how do I find the TriTalk team? I searched on the Companion and it drew a blank.
It’s only a team on Zwift Power. The inly club/team available on zwift natively at the moment is this new Club Jarvis thing for early zwift subscribers
Was thinking about doing this - but annoyingly all of the start times are in working hours for most of the US population, meaning I can’t do the first stage today and therefore probably won’t do any of them!
we didn’t even pay back then. The only route, after they changed to an in house game engine and Jarvis Island was scrapped, was what they call Watopia Hilly now. That was 6 months until Richmond was launched in September 2015. It was December when Watopia flat was added which I think was when you started having to pay
1 hour 21 on Haute stage 1 for me. It was quite busy!! 6500 at the start.
After making up 400 places on the main climb, I was delighted for my trainer to lose connection to the app… and lost 350 places stood by side of road - arrgghh!!
HR monitor also decided to be useless!
Nice time. I was hoping to hold something like 200w for the c90mins I was thinking it might take me. But as mentioned I was just knackered, and only ended up with 183 AP. I even had to take a few minutes of coasting with zero power on the main descent, as I was so desperate for some brief rest. Whilst I was still going at 70+ kph, swathes of people came past me so I was still losing quite a bit of time.
Doing 12k last night with 5k faster seems to have fried my legs. I think I am just tired … I couldn’t even run the whole of that faster 5k at Decembers ave MP.
How long do people experienced with the S2 and S3 routes think those will take? I saw this morning GPlama said he was expecting S3 to take 2.5-3hrs, although he mentioned about planning on extending to a metric century, and I couldnt figure out if he was factoring in that time or not. However 100mins for 48km today would suggest c75km of equally hilly terrain is going to easily take 2.5hrs. And I get the feeling the Pretzel has much less fast flat sections than today?
I’ve heard similar from a number of people in the last few days… I wonder if a background level of stress is playing a part?.. we’re in troubling times, and you’d a strange soul to not be, at least a little, affected by it.
Im still getting swamped on the flats… soon as goes to about 4% I start moving forward.
I went into super tuck on the descent - cause its faster than pedalling (I think this is where game vs training starts to be questioned)… and thats when I disconnected ffs.
Impossible not to be in a pack either with so many.
Imagine tomorrow will be a bit more spread out
True. I havent slept well all week. The early part of the week I put down to knowing about the pending need to furlough staff midweek, but that’s not really an excuse for the last couple of nights. Unless the latent stress is still lingering
That and the stress of just being stuck. Not knowing when it’s gonna end. Getting bored of the whole situation. Not training properly. No races. Etc etc
My current 8am start time has over 4500 riders. The 5pm S1 event this evening has 8300 currently!
There’s so many people racing they clearly werent even animating everyone. I’d have one rider go past me, and drop 5 places in the rankings. An interesting question that popped into my mind is whether you only get the draft benefit from those actually animated on your screen in that situation?
