I decided to do the tempus fugit 17K TT to try and motivate myself, great TT course, probably perfect for funkster & TRO, not a hill in sight.

Went fairly steady at about 290W with a slight peak in the last 2k when someone was trying to unlap themselves!

It was hard work though with a pint less blood from yesterday, came inside and got a migraine, and feeling a bit tired and rough now, what a pillock

Lesson learnt for the future that I’m not in my 30’s anymore :frowning:

Got around ok and treated it as a sweetspot ride with a few over-under efforts. Did my usual thing of working my way through and picking up a few people as I went. Didn’t seem much point bothering with the sprint for 48th place. :biking_man:t3: :biking_man:t3:

Tofu Tornado done, legs not in great shape after yesterday’s triple Pro Tri race series, but 1hr 45 at tempo so a solid training effort.

Can’t see me hitting it today. 14km run earlier and just swept the yard and cleaned both cars.

Club ride tomorrow, Big Foot Hills.

3 sisters as part of the ZA segment ride… just wanted a decent ride of 90 minutes so figured that ticked the boxes.
Legs still felt terrible and was ready to bail without even got halfway up the epic (Radio Tower and Volcano still to come).
Some light distraction texting a mate, then had a chat with myself (“You control the power on the hill - don’t let the hill control you” - Im truly sorry… what the f**k does the mind do when its fatigued!!), dug out my big boy lycra pants and then with more than a hint of Days of Thunder (classic!!) literally told myself “Harry… Im through this” - (I’m not even called Harry!)… anyway…
Started finding some on road battles, dragged one back who had overtaken me at my lowest, decent ride up radio tower, sat up to get in a group going down and rode to volcano with 2 others. Decent pace but wanted to have a nice dig at the end and managed to PB the 500 metres to summit (they might not have been racing for the polka dot… well technically nor was I… but I got a nice gap).
Rolled down, sat up, grouped up - exchanged pleasantries - 1 went early, went with him, flew past, realised was still 300 to go, he came back, I went again and…

Think he just had me - it wasnt even race with positions - all fun tho  (well apart from that first half hour I wanted to cry then)

Edit. ZP gave me the win for that elusive 22nd spot :muscle:

What are people thinking for this coming week?

Looks like I’ll be IRL riding again on Wednesday “lunch”

But I’ve had a few rest days and done some proper training this week having two weeks off from Zwift racing.

Pretty flexible on days, bar Wednesday.
Those 5pm plus meet-ups are out for me, I can’t organise my evening well enough :see_no_evil::rofl:

ETA: Now riding IRL Friday.
So back onto a Weds lunch race

I originally thought it was the 2K Keirin on Tuesday but looks like it’s 1st. Not sure about the 40K race this week.

I’ll probably have a look for some shorter blasts.

Quite a lot on with work ATM so don’t want to push myself anymore and need to get this groin problem to heal. Also thinking of changing the saddle on the Wattbike, it’s their endurance saddle and is quite wide on the nose, and one of the contact points is right on the joint of the tendon I think.

Not a great Monday AM session :face_vomiting:

I have meetings, so probably looking at 12.40 Volcano Climb race, as per last week.

When’s that one @jorgan ?

Looking at my calendar and availability for the week meant I’ve shifted Weds to Fri, so looking for a Weds lunch race now.

I might be a bit porky for that hilly race?

It’s at 12.40 today. It’s not that hilly, really just a slightly easier version of the London Box Hill event (London 8).
