I don’t know them!
I’ve signed up for the 3R iTT tomorrow night, about 24K. Not sure how it will go but will be a decent workout.
Was rather miffed that having prepped everything the night before this event didn’t appear and got my reminder the hour before it start in Companion when I started Zwift it wasn’t there, and no longer appeared in Companion.
Saw the notification about a Zwift app update - maybe the cause?
Did the workout on my own, no power dropouts (just Zumo, no power pedals) but HR dropped for about ten minutes.

That’s 2020 for you!
I think it’s because (like me) you like hilly midweek races, and they tend to be organised by 3R, and 3R disable the powerups in their races. I’m usually caught by surprise when I do an event with powerups enabled, and by the time I realise (when I get one) often it’s too late to get within reach of a way of using them…
Yes, I find the Crits or desert courses far too flat for races. Titan’s Grove was a bit of a shock last week; definitely harder than steady climbs!
Nice little Tempus Fugit TT last night, after an hour sweetspot session. PB with 24:51, 4.1w/kg.
Not far off being ready to give reaching Cat A a proper tickle, one of my winter targets. Thanks
Anyone racing tonight and/or tomorrow lunch/evening??
Not finding much inspiration trawling the events.
Don’t I get the cone of shame in an anti sandbagging race?? and slowed down
Im sure when I was in cat B - every race seemed to be mass starts. Now in Cat A and its always staggered - no fun!
Crit 17:30 tonight on Champs Elysee.
May well join you there if my diary stays free …
Hmm; so…
When riders select a race category at signup, their 1-minute and 5-minute power will be used to decide if Zwift pops up a warning indicating that they risk being flagged. At least initially, Zwift will not prevent the actual signup. But they will present a warning.
If the trigger is hit during the race three things will happen:
The Zwifter will get a new green “cone of shame”.
They’ll be given a message suggesting they move up a category, indicated by an arrow.
The racer’s power will be throttled, slowing them down but not bringing them to a standstill. ”If you want to race in the Ds, that’s fine, we’ll just make you a D racer.”
Racers will, however, stay in the race and they will remain in the results.
So when I went to sign up… I got no pop up suggesting I was in the wrong category
There were two green cones in my event last night. (I was NOT one of the GB )
For the races you guys do, how important is recording of cadence and heart rate?
I’ve just realised most of the ZA Tri academy workouts I’ve done won’t count because I’m missing one or both.
For the actual race - not important at all.
If want to get listed in ZwiftPower and not DQ’d - some races insist on HR. Never seen anything for cadence as a mandatory requirement.
As above I’m hoping to do the 3R iTT about 18:40.
Won’t be pretty though as my top end will still be missing.
How do no drop group rides work?
i just read a ZI report on the feature from when it was first released. Seems there’s some nuance on the speed of the group based on the riders’ outputs.
Me and a few mates are doing Ven Top tonight as a couple of them want to tick the route (i’ve actually already done it). Will it just negate any segment/kom times then that climb? As i assume we’ll all end up with the same time, but one of us could be doing 2 w/kg and one 4 w/kg !
FYI - cadence never matters - even if the workout states you should be spinning at a certain rpm it will still give you the star for completing the interval
