It was just a line in the warning section. “Do not leave the charger plugged in while the unit is not in use”. No explanation as to why. Probably one of those coverall warnings in case something happened. Like when Windows NT first came out it said it wasnt to be used to control nuclear power stations or something.
Maybe just a surge protection measure or something like that i.e. if you’ve got dodgy electrics which trip and knacker the trainer don’t come running to us etc etc
nah its always been through the challenge. I got mine a couple weeks back. Id done Everest to get the first bike, then got bored so did california then set everest again and chugged through it. I’m on Italy challenge now.
I completed the California challenge last night. just switched over to the Everest one, so will be interesting to see how long it takes me to get the Tron bike.
Yeah, I’m about 200k away from being in the same boat. Would expect to be starting the Everest challenge from next week.
It’s a good 50hrs of riding if you pick just hilly routes 100+ if you like mixing it up.
Seems like I have to be in the game to check out the Drop Shop? But a quick question. If I but another frame, can I take the wheels from my existing TT bike and add then to a road frame or do I need to buy new wheels as well (which would be a waste, as I have 808s from a level up).
Wheels can be swapped between bikes
Just the install the Zwift app on your phone; you can “just watch” then go to the menu and shop from there
At a push you could ride with it too! Starts up so much quicker than my old laptop; Surface Pro is quick too though, which is what I’m racing with atm.
Oh yeah, hadn’t thought of that! I have it installed but never open it.
I opened Zwift on my iPad and cannot see the garage option listed at all on the right. I can see all the other options like level ups, achievements etc but no garage. Do you think it’s because I’ve ceased membership (but am still valid until May 11th)?
Ticked off all the volcano loop badges this morning. Time passed quite quickly. 13mins to the moon podcast is also very mentally engaging and time flew by (I started season 2). Ended up with 28 laps total.
Sods law would have it I ended up on 49,999XP, a single point away from levelling up!
How many did you have to do @stenard was it 25?
I’ve got a mate that wants to do 100 miles tomorrow morning so I mentioned going round and round volcano.
I’m planning on doing a couple of hours with him at least.
Yeah, there’s badges for 5x, 10x and 25x laps. 25 will take you to about 104km
Mega pretzel for me today. 2 trips through the jungle almost broke me. Hate the gravel.
Just over 3 and half hours.
First metric century on zwift too.
Regretted not doing the volcano with how busy it was.
Did club group ride on the Three Sisters course. That was tough. Still got my trainer difficulty set to max. Bit up to the radio aerial was not pleasant. The worst part is the big ramps on the downhill. Spinning along happily in a high gear and then suddenly 11% gradient. Like riding into a brick wall.
awesome!
How does everyone else cope with the mental side of the long stuff, particularly indoors??
Having just posed that… Its not even long stuff, it’s any ride. Getting to halfway seems to completely change my mindset.
Going from, I hate this, I’m bored, I can’t do it to…i feel great, what time can I challenge here.
The 6 plus hour ones from last year on the Tacx app were accompanied by the radio and nothing else, the app was on the phone and just following a dot on a map.
It was similar to you, first hour was horrible then improved hour by hour. I think I was inspired by failure i.e. if I didn’t do it things would go wrong later in the season
Did the ZHR Afternoon Tea Race. This is a 6 lapper, about 40km, and took 59 minutes. Normalised Power was 253, which is 3.6wkg.
I did this race while streaming stage 4 of the Digital Suisse, or whatever terribly forgettable name it has.
The ZHR Afternoon Tea Race is a 2 category race, meaning you either race in the 3.2+ or 3.2- category. I am normally a B, so firmly in the A camp for this race. I wanted to try and get into the second group today, and I sort of nailed it. I went medium hard at the beginning to get into the silly wattage bazooka group, then let myself fall off the back of it 4-5 minutes in. Then I waited for the next cluster to arrive on the road and went with them. There were 4 of us, but one guy wanted us to try and get to 6 and work together so I dropped back and pulled forward a couple of guys who had been trying to bridge. From then on we really worked well together for laps 2-5. At one point two much faster riders came through, but I bridged to them and pulled my group along. Then we lost a couple in lap 5 as the fatigue kicked in, even though the behaviour of our little group was very good (for Zwift) and there weren’t too many surges. On lap 6, when the 5km to go distance ticked by, the attacks started. Of the six I was with I came third I think, maybe second. I can’t really recall the last 800m very clearly. One guy went 1.5km out but at normal mortal wattage (maybe 5wkg), but I was just too slow to catch the move. Then it was just me and one other as we put 20 metres into the other three as we had tried to bridge to the rabbit. We kept going at that point, and with 250m to go I pounded out a 600 watt sprint. I think I got him, but my brain was not really operating, so I clipped off, and lay on the floor. My wife asked if I had vomited. I hadn’t.
It is crazy, I mean, I just described how I came mid pack at a virtual race, but I feel like Clark Bloody Kent right now. The endorphins are singing to me. Amazing.
