Virtual Zwift Rides

Well slap me with a Pierogi, 232, lowest yet by some way. Must be a day for it thanks @mw22

@Poet it seems like you’re/your right, mass start the way to go👍

There’s more points available if there’s more riders.

Think I got about 1 point from the first race which had quite a few B’s.

Wasn’t that far off on the sprint but was really nervous about something locking up and the fan brake is much easier to control than the mag brake. Managed to stay in the bunch without any problems until the last 500.

I’d have liked to have seen if I could stick with the second pack in the second race but never mind.

I literally just posted that

Also, the ZTRL event was ranked at 95pts, so pretty much the best field you can get :fire:

Good info worth posting twice :+1::+1:

Agree with the finding of races that suit you and courses you know well. Also going in to the sign up page over simply that race rank number (which I don’t think goes deep enough, just looks at a few of the top entered). In the sign up page filter by ranking and check out the world ranks. Also look across at the 20min and 15sec numbers they have. Some (lower lettering) may be zpower so although they have a high rank if they’re in a race that DQs zpower then you can ignore them.

You’re more likely to get a better world ranking by being a puncher, sprinter. Just the way it is. Most races come down to a sprint for the big points. We have a guy on our team (Michael Gamst) who is not a sprinter, but has a massive engine and loves to try to break. He’s successful 1in5 times I’d say because the group think they’ll plug him back. So diesels CAN do it, especially up climbs.

I like to have zwift power live on when I race, on a separate monitor to my TV. Once the race has started and when the front group thins down to a small bunch (no point looking it if 100+) then you can start to weigh up who you have around you. Any heavy sprinters you can try to hurt on climbs and drop early or soften up. Any diesels you can try to sprint from or just sit behind them for th final sprint knowing they cant beat you.

Maybe not the right thread but I weighed myself this morning after my run and was about 74kg (would have been were it not for the sweaty clothes), and that was erm, pre toilet :joy:

I’m guessing this is the weight everybody else uses on Zwift? e.g. fasted, slightly dehydrated and depleted glycogen stores!

All that plus at the Equator (you weigh less there than at the poles), and carrying a fairground-sized batch of helium balloons

Anyone looking for a ZRL ride for tomorrow? I have a team registered and a couple of riders but not got enough.

Zwift weight has been updated to actual, as I weighed in for the first time since November this morning :sob:

Anyone riding (racing) today, lunchtime/afternoon?

probably not tmw sorry.

Potentially. Anything in mind?
I’ve got an 11-13 in my diary, but i’m hoping it won’t last longer than an hour, Could open up a 12.30 opportunity as it’s raining and cold outside so i cba to run!

@Jgav not for me - but what time you riding? And what division?

Actually I’ve spotted 3R Innsbruck at 11.30 and if I do A I’ll be the lowest ranked rider at 297, so might swing some points if I can not come last!

What about the next few weeks @gingerbongo ? I’m assuming JGAV needs a few riders even if not available every week.

Noice :sunglasses:
That’s watcha need to be doing for those juicy points

All depends on the times to be honest as Tueday’s (and Thursday’s) are busy with kids club stuff.

Well i wasn’t last!

Dolphin Crit City thingy. Just about managed to stick with the group the whole way, though the top finishers drifted away on the rollers just after the hill. I was clinging on to the pack after the hill by my fingertips on laps 6 and 7, but happy to have stuck with it. I wasn’t even last from the main group as the weaker riders like me came over in 1s and 2s. I mopped a couple up.

17/24 on ZP, something like 21/51 on Zwift.

I’m just not used to that surge/recover type of riding, so at least i’m working on a weakness.
