I’m way off all this zwift racing malarchy and signed up to do TourDeZwift, to make me do a decent turbo every 3 days. Managed the first two stages (long) ok, but today joined the 6pm ride with +2000 riders and a minute or so intot he ride my Zwift shut down. A bit peeved, I waited until 7pm, joined with plenty of time, again +2000 riders and almost finished my first lap (of five) and zwift cut out again. I’m using a pc, which has been fine up until today and it’s the windows program closing down (no error message) so for you more enlightened zwifters, is it me (i.e. my pc) or is it zwift not coping (how could I check) ?

I’ve had issues on any zwift event with participants into the thousands, (old Tour de France rides a couple of years ago) always thought it was their end being unable to cope with the numbers. The event I did for stage 1 had 800+ and was pretty glitchy.

A load of people were on Zwift complaining about being kicked out of TdZ or not being able to join one evening last week, so it sounds like it is struggling to cope with numbers.

I think there was 940 people in the TdZ ride I did this afternoon and it was fine, but 2000+ is a shed load of people! I guess it’s evening in Europe and morning in the US, so peak time

Thanks I’ll give it another go tomorrow at a hopefully less popular time. The previous 2 rides were something like 900 and 700

I was on at 6pm with no issues but only did the short route, it said something like 1500 riders.

Just the 18 riders in Cat B tonight with 1000+ watt sprints

My ranking currently sits me in 28th position. A flat sprinters race; so that should be truly awful, top 20 finish might see some very nice points tho!!

Watched the premier league races again last night - finding them really enjoyable; not least to see some VERY strange riding styles!

Sounds like you need a new bike.

Tuesday iTT, poor choice looking back

… and now he’s tested positive, so he’s not picking it up! haha. The saga continues.

Also, when i took my bike off it this morning, it was the skewer nut on the casette side that was stopping the casette from spinning backwards. May have also impacted the power readings i guess. Will give it another go tomorrow if i get time.

TT done, averaged 8w more than a fortnight ago for 19 seconds quicker with 12.65 points loss, fortunately still only 3.6w/kg so no TTT-ing for a while

Quite consistent power over the event, green line:

Good work, that’s nice progression.

You can stay on board the TTT train with 3.6 if it’s not too lumpy and even if it’s lumpy if you have any sort of kick.

Based on the last 5 minutes of that run, there’s no kick availble yet

Good luck to those going in the ZRL this evening.

Looks, bar a couple of points, like a group run on the whole.

Ticked off the shorter new Makuri badge tonight, very easy pace.

Dual recorded and the pedals came in at 18W less AP. It definitely felt like I was doing more than they say, I’d changed the crank length on the Garmin and calibrated them again.

Still wondering about the devices in the garage or whether my imbalance is having issues somewhere. Might try and see if I can put them on my Propel at some point and see how they compare with the Giant PM.

Also need to check if there’s an offset that needs doing on the Wattbike, I’m fairly sure I can’t calibrate it.

5th out of 29 tonight in my first race in months, the British Cycling series…. looks like one ahead of me will get bumped up a cat, so pleased with that given my lack of fitness, time on the bike recently, and utter lack of race craft!

As ever though, so many in the cat with stupid numbers….

Mother of god. ZRL. 7 all out sprints.
Any aero power up made it bearable, got 4 ghosts.
Think I got some points on 6th sprint as my team recovered for final.
Gave everything… but was still in the red from prev sprint.
30th overall. Got off. Sat on floor. Then thought I was gonna puke.

Absolutely ruined.
