You’ll be reet by Thursday, lad
No points . Needed top 20 as expected.
Hopefully that was the worst course for me.
I managed to time one sprint right out of seven All the others I gave up on other than making sure I didn’t get dropped
Found that much tougher than advertised
Still after 4 weeks off not sure what I was expecting. 10th on one fal and 42nd in front pack and couple of seconds off the winner.
Highlight of evening was seeing one of our clubs 16yo riders who we’ve supported over last couple of years solo-ing off the front of the A race for the win!
Yeah loads harder than last week for me. Didnt help getting 4 ghost PUs. Having anything aero just made it so much easier to not have to chase on after the sprint.
Final km of each lap (watts) 359/380/370/376/323/408/445. The 6th one was when I got points. Was delighted after going through the line that the top sprinter was detached from the group and all told to push on.
We finished 4th with 183 points. One bloke in another team scored 104 on his own - ridiculous really.
In my race once the front group of about thirty was established after the second lap it was actually pretty easy; cruise round to the Mall then a long sprint but no-one was pushing on after so it all regrouped with not too much trouble.
Pretty boring if you can’t really sprint
I got one 9th place FAL which was the only time I had an aero power-up (and I timed my sprint right so I finished at the line rather than 50m before )
I’ll stop banging on soon… did I mention it was hard?
Cant wait for next week tho - short sprint that comes AFTER an uphill. And we finish on a rise. Joyous.
I thought that black line was your turbo power versus the “actual” power from A. N. Other source then
Doesn’t that say you weren’t max’d out at any point
Ha - no you’re right. HR only hit 194 (199 in last weeks race). The legs tho were burning so much.
Sounds to me like you need some “PR Lotion”
(Other Snake Oil products are available)
“ For me the effects of PR Lotion have been clear and simple: it reduces muscle burn during hard efforts. Pain levels are difficult to quantify precisely, but I would say it knocks down the burn by 10-15%.”
Not at £30 a bottle I don’t! I cant justify that.
All about the sprints for me, the rest was pretty easy!
I did a race round next weeks NYC course a few weeks ago, it was pretty brutal TBH! Multiple short sharp climbs
That link I posted, 5 sachets for £12.
Worth a punt?
Hoping to squeeze in the WTRL Auto Cat Chase at 12.20.
Your 30 second power is impressive compared to your all out sprint. How does your curve flat line that much near the top!
Maybe my all out sprint should be better lol. I’ve started just ramping the cadence, which I guess I can hold without as much fatigue kicking in - but I just can’t get anymore out.
All the sprints started so early yesterday - so lots of focus on just trying to stay mid pack all the way to the line.
@Poet I’m expecting miracles with this stuff! Im also hoping that with my chicken legs I can make this stuff last a few applications per sachet
You ordered some then???
I’ve not used it
I’m not spending £3 on a sachet of Nivea with some bicarbonate in it.
I can make my own for that
Follow the instructions and let us know how you get on.
Also, get some caffeine chews for before the event.
And try hydrating like you would for a sprint tri (so 200-400ml High5 or summat)
Taper and treat it like a race
I’ve got caffeine tablets - I have to be careful tho; one of them at 6pm and I ain’t sleeping.
I think I’m ok with energy - that race was just the complete opposite of what I’m built for. I was the lightest rider in the top 40 finishers!
You wanna get those glycogen stores topped up!
May have depleted them during the day.
Nice gel 20mins before the start for that placebo can’t hurt?
