I thought it was ok…but I don’t think most of the races were as exciting or tactical as they could be.
I think as an individual event it’ll be great.
When it’s team based…I think you need something else. Possibly a 3rd team. That said, would have been great for a solo to get away… Tho the time gaps pulled back on the sprints were crazy
Our race was quite tactical, partic the last couple of laps. We knew we’d have to be proactive and reactive in this one.
I thought it was a good format last night, didn’t watch every race but I enjoyed the ones I did. Just a shame that Zwift seem to have made zero effort to promote it
It would be a good format for group races, maybe 10% of the field gets eliminated every lap over 10 laps.
And ZP gives you more points for each lap you survive?
Yes it’s strange Rob, I don’t know why!? There’s nothing beforehand on Facebook. Yet the YouTube broadcasts are lined up weeks in advance. Maybe it’s because they are semi-test events, but you’ve got the best teams in world racing in exciting new formats - they should get it out there.
WTRL TTT up the zwift Kom both ways.
Main rivals who mocked us last week, started a minute behind us. They also had an average 40w per rider extra on paper.
10 mins in the mighty Germans ahead had put 15 seconds into us and the chasing DIRT were 10 seconds closer to us.
But we held a solid line, rotations stayed in place and we kept the pace.
Couldn’t close on the Germans… Wasn’t sure my lunch was going to survive the 2nd time up the hill.
That 40w on paper advantage was reduced to 11w over the line and nicely paced saw us push the gap back out and get them by 5 seconds.
2nd in our division and 2nd of all the currently finished cat B teams . Only 24 seconds behind our A team.
Same ride for me. Our star rider had a technical and couldn’t finish another of our big powerhouses disconnected halfway leaving 4. We had to carry out weakest rider leaving 3 of us rotating.
We put 45 seconds into the team in front at half way but they pulled that back to just 30. Not sure of final positions but it was my best power in a ride for a while now so I’m happy
New dashboard for me (probably old for you lot) . Only had 1 min before my ride so didn’t get to poke around.
Stupid chain drop in a race, so frustrating! Problem is I’m using a bike I crashed and slowly it’s falling to bits. Frame has a massive crack in it which I’ve patched but it’s on it’s last legs. Tempted to buy a turbo bike instead.
At my best Ranking to date; paid off being forced into racing Cat A and hanging with the bubble until the last km.
Prime time viewing @Daz . Good luck
What a series we had hey!? We knew we were up against it with Cryo bringing in a couple of 1200w/15sec power houses. But we played the tactics to keep us in the game.
Both mens races were great. The premier league last season I found the womens normally more entertaining; but not last night.
I didn’t envy Mundell for 1 second… he must go through hell!
Aaaaggh
Got all set up
Started the 19.30 race
Big crowd, possible points???
Spin for 10 minutes
Go
Wait what… Forgot to change bike back from a P5 after doing a time trial at the weekend.
No draft. Game over.
Now scratching around for another race, looks like only option is 4 X leg snapper in Insbruck with three guys named Dietmar
Just done a recon race of the next ZRL (Innsbruck World’s course). Interesting course for a ZRL and a bit more suited to a non sprinter like me. The B race I was in was won by 3 minutes by a guy who is A/Nearly A+ in zwiftpower. I don’t get it, why race so out of category
Can only think he got bored of being mid-pack or lower and fancied some DQ glory?
The race was all cats together, and he finished with the 2nd and 3rd A+ riders, well ahead of the first A. But he raced as B so got DQed
Problem with the course is that everyone is going to be wkg limited up the hill as it’s more than 20 mins and there’s not enough run in to break up the field.
You mean everyone who is sandbagging will be W/kg limited
Have you seen this;
Few comments on the zwift CEO being a sandbagger himself!!
I think Innsbruck will probably see some cat Bs sneak under 20 mins. I’ve got a 20:37 time up there off just over 4.2 (I think WTRL is a bit more generous for DQs with climbs too). Not that I can go much harder than that. But with chunks of it draftable and a likely large group for most of it - I can’t see too many getting DQd.
I did 21:01 up there last night at 4.05 W/kg. Definitely some draftable sections, and also it’s pointless to go off the front of a group as you’ll just get pulled back on the descent by the power of the blob
