Virtual Zwift Rides

This says Zwift Racing Score is coming in late November

Forum post by Zwift says its gone… was only posted yesterday (I assume after this article was written).
Forum seems to have crashed - can’t get link.

Was a reply form the ZwiftRacingApp chap once again offering his services. Can only hope they do take him up. His cats really seem to work.

Edit - its up now @r0bh Zwift Racing Score Update [September 2023] - Racing - Zwift Forums

Ouch!!! That sounds expensive.
Cheers, will whack “something” over my wheel too :face_with_peeking_eye:

But my fan is underneath.
Oh, the woe!!!

Since the last update, Zwift hasn’t shut down properly on my laptop (not responding). Anyone else?

Zwift Racing Score Taken Offline

This isn’t technically a part of today’s game update, since the changes are all handled on the server side. But it’s worth mentioning that yesterday Zwift announced that Zwift Racing Score was being temporarily disabled “while we work on improvements to the overall scoring mechanism, which is currently in development and targeting a release in the coming months, though we don’t have concrete details for you yet.”

Readers may recall that Zwift Racing Score was soft-launched back in late June. You may also recall that some members of Zwift’s racing community were, shall we say, “less than impressed” by how Zwift chose to handle the scoring.

We can’t share any details due to NDA, but from what we’re hearing internally, Zwift’s revamped scoring mechanism should be a big improvement over the first iteration. Zwift clearly heard the community’s feedback, and they appear to be trying to deliver a Scoring mechanism that is in step with the high standards set by other community projects such as zwiftracing.app.

When will the new scoring scheme roll out? Zwift’s just-released This Season on Zwift plans state that Zwift Racing Score is launching in late November.

Interesting. Thanks Rob.

I see they’ve raised the cost of their trainer to £550 but it includes a year subscription.

Category should be based on results in events i.e. like IRL! So some kind of racing ‘score’ should be used.

I don’t get how difficult this is for them.

5v5 ladder
They only had 4, but full of As and A+ so :person_shrugging:

Wondered why the chose a flat crit course when they only had 2 sprinters.
Didn’t take long to understand there plan of 27 minutes at full gas. Hanging on for life.
Finished with a new FTP and a 4.3avg.
Still cat B @Jorgan

Won then lost when we got a DQ in the team for no HR :sob:

More roads\routes coming to Watopia fairly soon, supposed to be flat as well, does this mean there’s going to be some kind uber mega pretzel!

Also, another tour of watopia for double XP if anyone is interested.

I don’t think I’ve ridden on Zwift since the last tour

Think it’s just one single road from bottom of jungle back to the coast.
Only 18km of new road but they’ll spin some courses up.
Think there’s a pic of it.

Despite moaning about being fatigued at the parkrun I had a look at the tiny series  they were quite cunning and put a tough race on first which included the tedious ride up the glass road in NY, I was cruising when I suddenly realised I might miss the second race :joy: and made it with about 13 seconds to spare!

Cruised race 2, and stayed with the pack on race 3 until I could feel myself moving backwards on the Champs so backed right off.

Put some more effort in on the last race which was in Makuri and found myself near the front with 1K to go, kept going and managed to finish 9th and possibly one of my highest ever scores with 138. Although TBF I think most of them were ruined by that point!

Yeah so, I don’t know if you are aware. But I’m kind of a big deal around here. People know me.

1st place in my first race probably all year. :sunglasses:

(that it was in a group of about 4 Cat C’s we shall stay quiet about! :joy:. Although I was only 1 but last from the group of 8 As and Bs which isn’t too terrible)

Only way is down now though :joy:

ZRL on Makuri 40
Having watched @Daz this morning, bit worried. But few more recon videos and the sprints mostly seemed to be about timing.
Fairly tough start out the pen into sprint 1 of 5.
11th :fu:

Much better on 2nd for some fastest thru points.

Didn’t contest 3, but scored on 4 and 5 (without particular going for it).

Long drag home into horrible finish. Was flagging but hung on for 7th and my best haul of points I’m ZRL.

I was nowhere on the sprints. Went hard up the climb before the final sprint to try to get some points but just slipped out of the top 10. A small group clipped off the front after that sprint and went to the finish, and there was a split in the peloton up the slot canyon which I was the wrong side of. So coming to the line there was a group of 4, then a group of 10 contesting 5-14, then my group of 12 for 15-26. Got 17th and with team mates in 14, 18 and 21 we got a respectable mid table result

Did a Cat C race as my commute today.
It was bloody lovely
Everyone was really evenly matched.
Breaks were chased down.
We slowed down.
We sped up.
Two people went with 600m to go and I missed it :joy::face_with_peeking_eye:

Actually enjoyed that :white_check_mark:
(Also - Zwift weight is from 2021 :joy:)
