No. I pissed about off the front for half an hour until the final six seconds
It was a fun race.
Wish they could all be like that
@Poet = Bunch engine
Obviously!
Anyways … anyone doing the Tiny Races today?
I might. I’ve entered, but will see how the day pans out
Lvl36 achieved this morning
Still not got enough for the Zipp 808/Super9 wheels
How did everyone get on in the ZRL TTT? Good course for it I thought and I think it was a bit easier to stay in a line with the latest pack dynamics. We had a pretty good ride for 4/16 in our league but looks like @mw22 and team absolutely smashed it
Yeah I’m finding TTT in pack dynamics 4.1 so much easier.
Getting plenty of recovery and able to do a proper pull.
We were actually missing our strongest rider and our captain. But we have a really close 5min range and a well disciplined line.
Started first, took a few seconds on the first climb and just kept taking it out.
Rider 6 blew soon as we hit Kom and another went shortly after. First time I felt at the limit halfway up.
Slight mess at the end as we gapped rider 4, eased up so much I stopped before the line.
Easy win. 2 points clear at top. With Yorkshire next week and another TTT, we are looking good.
Looks like we ended with the 3rd fastest B time across all the zones.
Only EMEAE N - with 2 teams faster.
KST edging us by 3 seconds (shouldve been 1 but for our mis hap).
Then Dirty Beast Hell hounds - who we’ve regularly raced -absolute sandbaggers; as proved with their time over 1+ minute ahead of everyone else!
i love and hate TTT - did 1.5 races yesterday
1st race with BL13 Bullets Oceana West A1 11:20 CET. Cooked myself on the climb, and took a turn at the front just before the aqueduct - as per our plan the team put in a surge up the aqueduct… I simply couldn’t respond. Got dropped by 2s, however, as soon as the descent started 2s became 5s and I was gone - team time 35:33
2nd Race with BL13 Rockets EMEAW East A2 8pm CET. Felt good from the start, we had 4 strong riders and 2 slightly weaker riders, we kept the group together with stronger riders doing more turns on the front. I was on the limit the whole race, but importantly not over the limit. We kept all 6 riders together for 24.5km and only split in the last 1.5k, with the 4 stronger riders emtying the tank. Team time 36:32 and 1st place by 40s
We noticed that PD4.1 gives a significant benefit riding with 6 rather than 4 - even when 4 riders are doing most of the work. The sticky draft at the back is much greater, helping recovery. BL13 Rockets had the same avg power and same avg wkg as CONED, however we beat them by 40s, the difference was that CONED lost riders early, while we kept together
I’ve hit a definite plateau on Zwift recently. Due to lack of sprint / power spike ability I just get shelled on any short climb and as I’ve been bumped up to Cat A I don’t really have the chance to recover between these harder efforts.
And I’ve been doing races more often than I should as I enjoy them despite being last, so often have tired legs before I start.
So I’ve decided to do something actually resembling a training block. I’ll try what works for me running and see if it works for cycling as well. Steady rides are to be based on HR - not power. Which for me is 120bpm max.
And interval sessions are 10x2 mins hard with 1 min RI. Target pace (power) is my hoped for 20min power of 380W (best is 360W)
Pleased with the first couple of days. Only managed to hold 380W for 3 reps before slowing but next time I’ll aim to hold on for 4. Still continued to the end of the session.
And today, steady 120bpm got me up Alpe D’Zwift in 61:10 which I am super happy with and gives me a target for the future.
All rides done with trainer difficulty set to 0% and the interval sessions just done on the time on screen rather than Workout mode.
I still want to do some races - and I’m sure I will but feel the training needs to be a bit more structured.
Do you know what rank you are on zwiftracingapp?
Edit - I’ll answer it. Level 4/Sapphire.
You want to find races using that scoring system, or join a team for the ladder racing series. Where you generally get to race against more comparable people. Lots of races within races too - so always something for everyone to race for.

I’ll take a look. TBH I only really started racing on Zwift about 5 months ago or so and initially saw massive improvements (my FTP went up over 100W in 3 months).
Just looking on ZwiftRacingApp for the first time now. Not sure what I’m looking at but will work it out. Looks interesting though.
I’m coming from the opposite direction - I went away from Zwift racing for the last couple of years and have seen a decline. I think Zwift racing - going into that death zone - really helps. I’d like to schedule a couple of regular things a week - possibly get on a TTT team, and either ZRL or regular tiny races.
Might have a gander at that Zwift racing thing…
Good news is I should be a nice Cat C when I restart… :-), having crept into A when I was racing regularly.
Must be nearly that time again… ?
I’ll be interested, probably not this week though!
November onwards for me!
Get a ladder team together - FAR more inclusive… they are limiting the spread of how many ranks you can have… but here’s a quick summary…
Me Level 3
Hillwall Level 4
Jeff Level 4
Buzz Level 3
Jorgan bossing a level 2
Tupperware Level 4 (!?!?)
But people like Gingerbongo and wheezy who felt Tritalk TTT A team was too strong at times; fit in so much better on this series. Suspect a couple of you may rank up - and the team is ranked as per the strongest rider; but ultimately you find your place in the league and ride against similar abilities.
Get to pick when you race - long as you can find an opponent!! 1 or 2 mandatory Tues races every couple of months.
I’ve literally no idea what you’re going on about
A, B, C cats replaced with a scoring category combining both power and results based. (see zwiftracingapp). Far more accurate to get you racing against similar folk.
Ladder series > TTT.
Team of 5 v Team of 5. Highly tactical and fun. Lots of mini battles and every position counts.
Finish positions are scored 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1.
We rarely take first place as they often bring a level 1 rider; but we can contest enough other places to take the team win (which is the whole point).
If you win, you move up the ladder above the team you beat - lose - stay where you are. Win a couple and you quickly rank up; lose a few you dont move too much but generally start to get easier teams to match against.
I can bore you with videos if you like too! Bit more admin from a captain and vice in arranging matches - but that also comes with the convenience of racing on your terms.
Zwift are transitioning ZwiftPower and their ZwiftScore into who knows what in the coming months (maybe).
ZwiftRacingApp is independent of zwift and community driven.
Congrats on the diet success
