What you tryin to say bruv?
Can race when you like, you say @mw22 ?
Well that was yesteryear - now youve spent all year smashing the bike for a hilly Ironman you’ll be leading the TTT boys out
Every race is agreed with another team @Poet . So you as team put your availability up and other teams try and match. But theres obviously teams all over world. So we mostly race European teams at night - but others in Europe are now starting to match with Oceania/America for morning matches.
Some weekend matches now going off as well
I think this may be the issue for me. My time for when I can race is normally not possible to plan in advance. I normally realize I have 45 minutes to spare so find a race which starts in 5mins
I just want revenge on the sand dweller when he returns untrained for the punishment he doled out on Bologna
While it’s a nice idea, I can see herding cats being a problem (just look at the TT Smackdown thread, imagine trying to do that on a weekly basis).
The TTT is a fixed(ish) time every week, and people turn up or don’t, sometimes not confirming until minutes before the off. Does this ladder need a more committed 5? What happens if there are 6 or 7? or if 5 say yes but only 3 make the startline?
Certainly makes it easier. You don’t need to race every week. Only 1 mandatory race at start and end of each season.
Some teams run 4v4.
Can’t do more than 5 in a single race… so generally just rotation and who’s available. We rarely have that many available and we’ve got about 15 on the roster. Tho also trying to balance racing ZRL on Tuesday and a number still like to TTT. We have a core of 3 that want to ride every Thurs night - so look for 2 to fill the team; if we get more; the core riders will offer to rotate out so we keep the interest.
But yes - the TTT is handy/convenient and needs zero commitment. Ladder just much more fun.
Couple of unfortunate nights on Zwift. Joined the second BL13 race last night but on Cat A as I think B was empty, was just looking to sit in for as long as possible. Got the feather P\U instead of the steam roller and as soon as we got to the gravel drag that was that!
Then decided to do a Tempus Fugit TT tonight, noticed after 2K I was getting no HR data so knew it would be a DQ so eased back and cruised round.
Probably for the best really as it was fairly clear last night that I’m still recovering, despite what my Garmin thinks.
Yeh that second race was dangerous with a feather for the first Jeff wasn’t it. I sat behind the front as soon as the steamrollers started, then popped feather as it kicked up. Just about hung on.
Second race this Wed 6:35pm is a blinder. Prob most repeated race we’ve done.
I saw yourself and Phil, I think I’d stupidly used the feather by then and wasn’t sure when the next PU was.
Wednesdays are very hit and miss but not it’s getting dark I’ll be seeing what’s on.
Tour of Watopia starts tomorrow for double XP. Doesn’t look like it includes any new roads\routes yet though?
New routes towards the end of the month I think
After what feels like over a year, I’m CAT B again.
I think adding 0.5kg to my weight tipped the balance after a few weeks. .
'kin sandbagger
Hey @Daz your race looked tough.
I got stressed out near the end watching you dangling out the back - I know its your style but I was sure that draft was going to snap!
That guy that won in your pack; he played a blinder. I thought he was getting dropped - but saving that Anvil and launching through with 500 to go was pretty smart. I will attempt that later with less success
Ha the sticky at the back is mental. That straight before the final turn - I did 25sec of 0wkg on first lap. Then second lap as you say I was about 3 bike lengths off all the way. Crazy PD
Is it the same PD for all events? I often find it a bu55er to get back onto a smallish group if I get the ‘warning’. Is it dependent on pack size?
They tinkered with it again and updated beginning this week. Not sure where are at now, think I heard it’s called 4.1.9? lol
So they have apparently worked on the stickiness within the pack, reducing it a little so you can move past people better.
Personally I think it’s gone full circle back to PD2, where you could hang a few bike lengths off the back, surf through off the front.
I did notice I could ‘surf’ off the front if I put in an effort yesterday; but then the moment you eased off you were out the back again (in a group of about 16). I did see my power number go red a few times as it tried to keep me in the same place in the pack.
