I find myself in an event with @Daz SZR at 16.30
OMFG
You were only 3s behind… Your average power was way higher than @Daz - 328w for 25mins looks like a full on FTP test, Daz’s average was 295w, and he weighs just 3kg less than you. @Daz is a master of using the least amound of energy possible, while staying with the pack - and then he has a pretty decent sprint just to annoy everyone.
Your FTP looks great, just need to race in highly competetive races to generate better race craft
I have zero sprint!
Hey Jorgan, didn;t realise you were there struggling with me! I was just about holding on whole way.
But had a secret weapon…my new DS https://youtu.be/eOpqcFnFI-E?si=G3PqGsHvQEDyS7Wq
KISS 100km endurance group ride for me today. 250w for 2h20mins, these longer rides around race pace are starting to feel easier
Yes we were rubbing shoulders for much of it!
Ironically it’s the opposite of this that’s landed me firmly in A; I need to pretend I weigh more so I can race in B😅
The main downside of A is very small fields in the lunchtime/daytime events when I use it.
Or bump up the sandbagging B’s!
Just as bad being in E
Yeh I prefer doing races where all Cats start together. Bit more fun having a big blob from the start, rather than just a few other riders.
The climb portals are good for xp aren’t they.
Got 3x250 xp plus three or four 10xp all on a 3km climb!
I’ve gone up a zwift level in a couple of rides
That’s generous! I’ve done a few portal climbs recently and only got one 250 each time
TT #3 ranked rider.
@mw22 et al need to up your game from sandbagging in B.
Been injured and ill. First race back today after few weeks.
I’ll get back to low 100s in a few weeks hopefully
I’ll never get to A … Plenty of riders with far more power hanging around in B these days.
Looks like there’s going to be some fairly huge F500 events on current signups. Some big old blobs to sit in.
Nooby question - will a ten speed bike work with an 11 speed cassette?
Going to take my trainer down to the in-laws and try and sneak a bit of easy zwifting in.
I’m not looking for silky smooth gear changes but will the chain actually fit in-between the sprockets without serious rub?
(Tight on space in the car to take my bike and I’ve no time to ride it down, FIL has a shitty I think 10 speed hanging in his garage, untouched for years)
Worth a try, gears might jump a bit or rub but I think it should be usable.
